A man was killed in a one-car road accident while transporting a driver to the hospital

A man died in a road traffic collision in Ko Dawn.

The one-car collision with the Mitsubishi Shogun occurred on Castlewellan Road, near the intersection with Convent Road, Cabra, near Kilcoo, in the early hours of Friday.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers attended the scene with colleagues from other emergency services.

“The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service took the male passenger to hospital, but he has unfortunately since died.

The driver was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries.

“We appeal to anyone who was traveling on Castlewellan Road between 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 30 and 1 a.m. Friday, October 1 and who witnessed the collision, or may have captured dash cam footage, to reach out.”
