People between the ages of 30 and 34 can register for the Covid-19 vaccine next week

Health Secretary Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that the online reservation system for Covid-19 vaccines will open next weekend for the 30-34 age group.

“Progress continues on the Covid-19 vaccination program. Second doses of AstraZeneca for those aged 60 to 69 will be completed in the coming weeks,” Donnelly said on Twitter this afternoon.

Read confirmed that HSE briefed Donnelly on the proposed revised vaccination plan from HSE this afternoon.

He said he would allow the health minister to brief his colleagues in the government on the plan before revealing more details, but described it as «ambitious».

He said the nationwide infection rate for Covid-19 «remains steady below 100» and the average age of people infected with the virus is 26.

Reed said 83.5% of the cases in the past 14 days were in people under the age of 45.
