Two Irish Lotto players came close last night to winning the €11,857,358 jackpot at Longford and Wicklow, and both were just one number away from winning.
Lotto officials are asking all residents of the Granard area of Longford and in the coastal city of Bray to check their tickets carefully today as the two lucky ticket holders match five numbers and the bonus, meaning they will share a prize of €123,846.
The Longford winner bought the winning Quick Pick ticket on the day of the raffle at Londis on Main Street in Granard and won €61,923.
Meanwhile, the lucky Wicklow player earned his winnings after buying a Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw at Sintra on Bogal Road in Bray.
The winning numbers for the lotto draw on August 25 were: 01, 21, 28, 30, 43, 45 and the bonus was 02.
A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: “Excitement continues to grow for Lotto players across the country as there was no jackpot winner last night of €11,857,358.
This means that Saturday’s jackpot is now set to turn into an estimated €12.5 million.
“The jackpot has been around since Wednesday, June 9, and the potential winner this weekend could become the sixth lotto jackpot winner in 2021.
“We remind players who dream of becoming Lotto jackpot winners that tickets can be purchased in-store, in-app or at www.lottery.ie and that the deadline for ticket sales is 7.45pm on Saturday night.”
Ticket holders will need to sign the back of their tickets for €61,923, contact the National Lottery Prize Claims Team at 1800666222 or email prizes.
Meanwhile, the National Lottery has also confirmed that a Tesco customer in Ardkeen, Co. Waterford who won a special EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ of €1,005,000 in last Friday’s draw have made contacts and arrangements are being made to award them their prize.
